Mobile phones have become an essential part of our life. Wherever you go-young and old or richand poor - you will see them with their phones. This is because the mobile phone is capable of performing many functions. Its main function is as a tool of communication. 

Since it is a portable device it is handy as one can take it with you wherever you go.In addition it can function as a camera or even a radio. The more so phisticated ones have television and game playing devices and you can even send typed messages. Its greatest advantage is that messages can be sent and received from all over the world in a very short time.

In spite of all these advantages it is also necessary to keep in mind the disadvantages it possesses They can be harmful where children are concerned as they can get addicted to it and waste time and neglect their studies. They can even view undesirable movies and be exposed to undue influences. 

As it is such a handy device a child can spend time on the internet without parental knowledge or permission. For this reason it is very necessary that parents keep a watchful eye on children with access to mobile phones and prevent them from misusing them.
